Been doing so well!! Can completely stick to the strictest diet etc at home. But… Am away working away from home and its so exhausting anyway without having to calculate macros in your head (working lunch etc)… Just got to dinner time in hotel and have eaten too many carbs topped off with wine!!! Lying in bed regretting every bite!!! Fat fast rest of week for sure!!!

It’s not easy. Don’t beat yourself up. I messed up a big loss a long time ago with a week in KC for business.
My plan for eating out is to keep it simple, and keep the carbs minimal through choices. plain protein, plain salads, the like. Dressings that can’t be carby. I don’t sweat the marginal macro in this situation, I just make sure to keep the carb low.
I’m with MaxH on this one. Don’t beat yourself up too hard. Just do the best you can going forward.

Oddly, I find it easier to eat low carb when I’m away for work. Hotel restaurant or other restaurants always have meat/veg/salad in some combination. I keep it simple, no dessert unless a cheese board is available even then I prefer to buy a bar of 90% chocolate and have a couple of squares as my dessert.

I should have also said, the most important thing is getting back on the wagon. I’ve had enough times over the past 10 years where I have fallen off and stayed off for 6 months or so. That’s the bad juju.

For me, the wine was the worst. Why?! Didn’t need of want it. Coz I was tired!
Wine is really hard. I enjoy a glass every so often but would really enjoy a glass every night. So I save my wine for a glass on the weekend. W/o Be is really hard. You’re fine Jennifer, chalk it up to an experience to learn from. KCKO

@Robert_Johnson mentioned this elsewhere on here but it is exactly what I do… tell yourself that carbs are poison. It has worked for 4 months with not an accidental slip. Read the science so it’s not just an a priori belief, make it something you know to be true. It will hopefully help you to face down cravings.
I realize this doesn’t always (or maybe usually) work with drug/drink addicts where their addiction is even more literally poison but it works for me… a guy who used to think that the recommended portion size of chocolate biscuits/cookies was… 1 box!
