Up and Downs

(Anita) #1

What do yall do about the ‘ups and downs’? This weekend I may of drank a lot of water and ate maybe a little to many carbs from ‘low carb’ products. I was down to 164 this past Thursday and now I am at 169. Currently trying to get to 140. I know its not really fat and its just water consumption holding on but its breaking down my confidence.

I have to stay away from low carb products entirely. Anything sweet, regardless of type of sweetener, makes me gain. It makes my body want to use carbs for energy slows my metabolism (not enough carbs for energy there) and causes stalls. I consider a fluctuation of up to 5 pounds a stall.

I have to make sure the body is getting enough fat to rely on it for energy. Then I can reduce that amount and the body will draw bodyfat to make up for it.

So, I eat nothing sweet, if I really want a desert type thing I whip up a little cream with some plain chocolate powder. It hits the spot, no sweetener needed.

I eat animal proteins, fat, and low carb veggies only, with some cheese. I make chaffles for some bread like food, sandwiches or to sop up juices.

We are all different, but that is what works for me.

Thank you for that, I really need to learn to get away from those products. I own a bakery that does regular baked goods with Keto baked goods and I feel like I still have that sweet tooth even after 2.5 months of being on. I need to get away from anything sweet and stop craving it.

If it has carbs you don’t need it, well except for beer and wine anyway.

While I think of it Oskar Blues has a pretty good new Hazy IPA called ONE-Y that clocks in at 5g carbs and 100 calories.

You can try an elimination type n=1?

For me…

Ups =

Most Dairy
Nuts
Sweeteners -YMMV
Veges -YMMV
Baked goods and Breads - even Keto type

Downs =

Eliminate the above
Works for me😄
In other wards, mostly carnivore

Good Luck!
