Unwelcome side effects from keto

(Brandy Fischbach) #1

I will start off by saying that I have several health issues that definitely effect my life. I have fibromyalgia, bipolar 2, hashimoto’s thyroiditis to name a few. I am aware that all these things SHOULD be improved with keto. I am also aware that all these things can contribute greatly to fatigue and body aches. However, since starting keto and going on supplements (K2, magnesium, ACV), I have had more mood swings, more body tenderness and less energy. I want so much for this to work for me, but feel I’m hurting more than helping myself.

other than electrolytes, I dont see the need for supplements, so maybe eliminating a new things you are eating, just to see if that might be related? how long have you been on keto? i felt pretty instant results, but I think at least a week or two for most people, and several weeks to feel stable, is the norm

How long have you been Keto? If you haven’t been keto long enough to become fat adapted, you could certainly feel worse until that happens. It could take weeks or even a couple months.
