As a diabetes I was finding it impossible to get into Ketosis. After 2 weeks of struggle, I took supplement Lysine and Lucine. and Boom! I am in full Ketosis in 2 days. Probably Lucine did the trick. I started Lysine one day earlier and did not notice any difference in test strips. Then I started Leucine (two tablespoons 90 minutes after food) and saw little coloration on test strip the next day. One day later (today). I am in medium ketosis (4.0).

The 20 g/day carb limit will get almost everybody into ketosis, but some really insulin-resistant folks need to eat even less. If you are not getting into ketosis on 20 g/day, try eating even less carbohydrate, or even eliminating it entirely. Stefansson and Andersen proved that carbohydrate in the diet is completely unnecessary, in any case, since the liver is perfectly capable of producing all the glucose the body needs out of fatty acids.
