UK supermarket hot counter foods

#1

Hi, for those in the UK our supermarkets do some lovely convenient hot meats. Does anyone know carb details for any of the following- morrisons ribs of fire; tesco hot and spicy wings - extra tasty chicken thighs?

Theres some bits on unofficial websites like myfitness pal but id prefer not to trust these where possible. Also ive found frozen berry mixtures at 7g per 100g carbs and double cream at 1.6g per 100ml is an awesome desert that i love. This is legit on keto right?

I know Tesco use sugar in the skin of the chicken they cook, dextrose is listed on the ingredients too.

That said, I do eat them from time to time out of convenience.

Oh no really. Thats a bummer i feared something like that.

It doesn’t seem to cause me any issues on the odd occasion I do it, you may be OK with them.

I don’t tend to buy the flavoured chicken as I’m sure it contains sugar. But what I like best of all is Morrisons gammon shank!
Omg I can just eat all the crispy sticky crackling and then I have a leg of ham to use as I wish.
My favourite is to make a chicken and ham pie filling. A little onion and veg of your choice fried. Add some chopped chicken thigh, a herb or two (I like tarragon and parsley), a splash of white wine or ACV, cream cheese, cream and chopped ham!
Who the heck needs pastry!
I wish there was more awareness of keto in the UK. The US and Australia seems way ahead.

Aww man…you got me craving those coated chicken pieces they do in Morrison’s now :joy::joy: I loved those things before I went keto!

@RedBeard

I’ve previously contacted Morrisons about the ribs of fire and also the flavoured chicken thighs (I buy the ribs lots)- pretty sure the ribs are zero carb, the chicken isn’t though, especially the stout and chinese ones.

there is an official nutrition sheet somewhere on some part of their website, but I cannot find it, if it appears somewhere I’ll whack it up here…

think this is the flavoured chicken… Morrison’s said the ingredients do change quite regularly so they tend not to advertise the stats…

no worries, I’m still not even convinced they are accurate really, but that’s just me doubting everything!
