Two non-scale victories this week - mental and physical

I feel lucky that my husband is doing this with me. We are slowly getting all the junk out as far as our three year old daughter is concerned. It isn’t like she’s had a lot of it and she is a really healthy eater, but it’s hard to know how to handle it when she recognizes things like cookies and chips at the store. I bought the bag of chips while she was begging for them when we were shopping. But by the time we got home she had forgotten about them. I should really just throw them away. Maybe I should keep her out of the grocery store for a while. One of them gives cookies to the kids when you go to the bakery department. Last time my husband took her there, he didn’t know that she usually got a cookie from them so he never took her for one. She cried all the way home and was so upset he had no idea why. I actually found a low carb cake in a mug recipe that she was thrilled with for a replacement. Baby steps I guess. You are really a strong person to do this with non-keto temptations around you!

3 is a hard age because they recognize their favorites but aren’t always ready to hear they’re not the best choice for them. It sounds like you’re doing a great job and she’ll be a healthy girl thanks to that. If you’re on Facebook there is a group called Keto Kids that’s pretty helpful with kid friendly recipes and such.
