Traveling to USA

Hi All,

Im a long term reader and first time poster. I have been doing keto now for 6 months and have lost 16kg (currently at a plateau with 5.5kg to go). I am travelling to the USA next month with my family and Im hoping people can let me know what “snacks” I can pick up the first day to have in my backpack each day. I dont want to get stuck with out something to eat and possibly make a bad choice.

All information is appreciated

Agree w @KidKeto

Beef Jerky - some have sugar added. So check
Nuts - pecans, macadamia, walnuts or almonds
Salt - pink Himalayan
String Cheese - backpacking so not sure on ur time
Dark chocolate- as a treat
Pork Rinds - a must!!
Avocado - a couple of small ones . yes. Not a snack. Bring utensils
Sardines - my fav. To each there own

Welcome to the U.S.
Enjoy!

Btw
U can always start off ur visit w a “ Keto coffee “ at the airport I’m sure …Starbucks :slightly_smiling_face:
Just add HWC to black coffee then add or nibble on some kerrygold butter ( in packets at most Starbucks)

Just go to a grocery store and look around. We probably have a lot of the same foods you’re used to.

One thing to keep in mind is that at restaurants you can customize things and it’s not a big deal. For instance, say you order a burger you can usually make it bun less or get a lettuce wrap. And if it comes with fries you can ask for a side salad instead and get it with ranch dressing. Ranch is the best. Lol or get it with veggies instead.

Instead of jerky beef sticks or better yet smoked sausages links. Most have little to no sugar. Again, check the package.
