I weigh in tonight at the gym for the first time in a month-nervous and excited. And even with a modest loss of just a few pounds I’ll be satisfied! Everything g seems to be working out ok but my strict carnivore days are up as I feel if I continue I’ll end up breaking down and eating carbs. I gave it a great run however!
Today is weigh in day
Congrats! I’ve done accidental carnivore for about a week a couple times and I definitely slimmed down a little doing it but agree it’s really not that doable long term. Plus if you’re in the gym and doing resistance training the scale is slower to reflect change, sometimes it doesn’t at all, make sure your measuring with other markers.
4 pounds… so apparently there’s a pattern here… my body is giving me a 4 pound loss each month now… I know I should be happy… I’m going to work on getting happy about this right now
Four pounds a month is 48 pounds a year. I know four pounds a month might seem slow. When I was gaining four pounds a month I didn’t even notice, but those four pounds kept coming, and coming. Go be happy about it, I would.
It’s a good way to look at it! Before, I wasn’t actually maintaining my weight, I was putting on a little every month. So technically, not only am I losing the weight on the scale, I’m “losing” the weight I would have seen if I’d kept on eating the way I used to.
I should be happy but I feel let down… I worked my butt off and it’s frustrating. I got issues
Wait, really? You’re disappointed?! One pound/ week for two months? Plus compliments about how great you look? It sounds like you’re getting lots of validation, and 4 lbs/month is terrific. You don’t have much to lose, right?
Don’t forget - the less you need to lose - the longer it takes. Apparently that is just how the body works. And men lose weight much faster than women.
1 lb per week is pretty much accepted as the ideal weight loss amount, no matter what method you are using to lose weight. Any more than that and you risk gaining it back just as quick. Give your body the gift of patience.
If it makes you feel any better, I’m averaging the exact same weight per week. Maybe a little less. So I KNOW!! Lol.
Yes, so it will be slower for you (though I don’t think 4 lbs/month is slow… there are folks on here who would really love to be seeing that kind of weight loss).
Relatively near your goal weight, female, and close to 50 (right? though I would guess much younger from your photo!) - all of those would point you to expect great recomposition and health changes but relatively slow movement on the scale, so it sounds to me like you’re one of the lucky ones to see results in pounds so quickly and so steadily.
Thank you for the kind words. Yes, al ost 50 and ty for the compliment on not looking it… honestly I don’t feel it. Weird thing with this process is one day you just see something has changed for instance this morning it was my thighs… they look slimmer and more toned and I was like marveling over how they just transformed… although it didn’t just happen… is this making any sense? Sorry. I’m just having a hard time… shout out to everyone on this forum for being so very accepting. I’m always amazed by this group
