To eat fat bombs or not?

Hi everyone,
I am confused about fat bombs. I keep reading “'eat more fat to satiety” so if you are still hungry and use fat bombs to satiate, then they are fine? But, I then read that folks overdo it with fat bombs. Which is it?

At the end of the day you still are accountable for your calories. 1 gram fat = 9 calories.

Correct.
Use fat to satiety.
Protein is a goal to meet.
If you are still hungry, and have met your protein goals, then eat fat until you feel full. Do not continue eating over your protein goal.

I used fat bombs almost daily until I was fat adapted…probably because it took me that long to figure out how to get my meals satiating enough…and also because I was still craving dessert most nights. I rarely use them now because I’ve learned to cook with more fat and don’t crave sweets often. But, I do still keep them in my freezer for the few occasions when I only have time for a quick, small meal before rushing off to an event for the evening…then I’ll top off then with one or two.

Same for me- had them quite a bit at the start, now rarely have them… & there were so many recipes I never tried!

We got this book a while back…

Most of the recipes in the book are sweet and, to tell the truth, I don’t really care for the sweet ones.

But it also has recipes for savory fat bombs - and YUM - they’re really good. My wife makes three or four of them over the weekend and then I slowly consume them during the week. I’ll sometimes use them as a small meal or as a side dish to a regular meal.

I’m 3.5 months into keto so I should be fat adapted, but I still find I’m craving dessert most nights. And I wasn’t a big sweets eater before keto, but of course. really cut out any nonsense after going keto. I guess I’ll keep making my freezer fat bombs and hopefully I’ll need them less and less!
