Hello! Any suggestions? 2 months in and I do clean keto. I’ve lost 26 pounds but I don’t feel like doing anything. I take B-12, magnesium and potassium. Sea salt in my water and I’m sleeping 3 hours longer than usual. I’m not tired just almost feel depressed and don’t want to do anything.
Tired on Keto 2 months
I also IF 3-4 times a week and I’m not low in calories and hit my macros pretty right on daily. I’m always below 20 net carbs
Welcome to the forum Dotdot=).
You have done really well, losing 26 pounds in only 2 months, wow. If you are tired, and no energy, I am wondering if you are drinking enough water? Sometimes if you aren’t this can make you lethargic as well.
You seem to be doing really well and doing everything right, so I am not sure. I am sure that others that are very scientific and good at this stuff might have some good solutions =).
Your body is changing drastically in a fairly short period of time. Drink your water, increasing the amount if you can, keep up with the salt and magnesium. You are hitting your macros…may I ask what they are?
70% clean fat 25% protein and 5% carbs. 1440 calories. 135g fat, 75g protein and 18carbs approx
I also quit smoking 5 months ago so I thought I would have a lot more energy but I did replace the habit with Juul maybe that’s the culprit but I was fine with energy until Keto 2 months ago. I’m happy with results so far though and my GERD is gone so I will keto on! I just hear everyone say how great they feel and me not so much yet. I was biking several miles a week but have not exercised one day in 2 months. I just don’t feel like it but plan to make myself here soon. I agree though 26 pounds in 2 months and not smoking my body is probably saying what the freak! I will definitely give it time I just never see or hear anyone say they feel this way after 2 months so thought maybe I’m missing something
Well, afaik your macros do look good. More knowledgeable people will hopefully chime in.
I too don’t have the big energy bump some others do, but people are telling me that some folks don’t feel that, or at least not right away. I do have more energy than I used to though. I am more alert.
I’ve also heard that taking MCT oil gives you a lift when you know you are going to be active and will need energy. That might be mostly useful when exercising, though.
That’s not enough water IMO. I have been drinking water out of a Hydro-Flask that stays by my bed. I have had four or five cups of coffee this morning. Salt with breakfast with another palm of pink salt (pinch) popped in my mouth and I am drinking again out of my water bottle. All of this and its only 9:00 am. I did get up at 3:00 am and run five miles with a gym workout sandwiched in so I may be a little on the active side but you need to try and sip some water throughout the day. Don’t force it but think of it this way, by the time you think hey I am thirsty you are likely dehydrated by that point.
An overdose of magnesium can make you tired. I had the same problem, seven weeks on keto and felt awfully weak and tired, every movement seemed like a big challenge.
I wondered, how this could be, because I have tried keto several times, and experienced mental clarity and increased energy just after a week.
This time I needed to supplement magnesium because of leg cramps in the night. But I should have quitted or reduced it after a few weeks. When I did that, and I felt much better! Now I only drink a magnesium rich water, and take a supplement maybe once a week, when I feel, I tend to get leg cramps.
Thank you! I just started the magnesium because of the lag I was feeling and it’s only 300mg. I will keep waiting it out and try to drink more water
