I’ve been on the Keto Diet (HFLC) for almost 3 full weeks now. Prior to this I enjoyed sugars of all kinds, I was a snacker for sure, especially at work. I went cold turkey and cut all sugar, caffeine and carb intake. I struggled the first week but felt great the next two weeks with great energy. However, my feet started to feel numb and it has now moved on to my toes and heels in both feet as well as three fingers on my right hand. I went to a massage therapist and a chiropractor thinking it might be a pinched nerve, but no luck. I’m really getting discouraged and frustrated because I am uncomfortable and my feet feel “asleep” and swollen (even though they aren’t), so it’s starting to impact my physical activities. This could have nothing to do with my diet, but I wondered if it was if anyone had any great solutions. I go to the dr on Monday, but I would love some quick relief!!
Tingling and numness in Fingers and Feet
I experienced this (exactly as you describe) also so I use nutritional yeast and brewers yeast and mix them together and place them in gel caps. It worked for me but then again everyone is different with how their body handles endogenous blood sugars vs. exogenous dependency on eating processed 100% pure sugar (empty calorie) absent of its natural nutrients like vitamins and minerals? Maybe try eating some organic fruit more frequently?
Even though yeast is a semi-processed substance it is still closer to natural than any man made vitamins in my opinion!
Use B Vitamins for Numbness, Pins & Needles in Your Hands and Feet
Dr. Berg talks about the difference between the numbness of the hands and feet versus tingling or pins and needles type of sensation, and the condition called Peripheral Neuropathy. He also talks about Benfotiamine, a type of B vitamin that is made into a fat soluble form and how it is a great remedy for neurological damage.
Peripheral Neuropathy Stage:
- Tingling
- Pain
- Burning
- Pins / Needles
- Numbness

Thanks Bunny, I have severe neuropathy in my only foot from years from dialysis. I just ordered this to give it a two month trial to see if it helps.
I went to the dr and had some blood work done. Everything looks fine, but the symptoms are still there and I have muscle weakness in my legs.
