Thyroid healing!

#1

I have hypothyroidism, and take medication to give my body enough. Keto has healed my thyroid to the point where I was feeling over-medicated (jittery, can’t sleep, like amped up). Got my blood test for it back yesterday and, indeed, my same dose is WAY too much and I need to cut it in half, and maybe even more! Also, my liver enzymes are back in range (except one is a little high, likely from too much thryoid med) and my A1C is 5.2 down from 5.6
Yes, sir, KCKO!!!

Same for me I went from 1400mcg per week to 1050! Keto for the WIN!

The hyperthyroid feeling before getting the blood test and backing off was WEIRD. I was like a wired cocaine addict, and my heart was pounding out of my chest. I had A LOT of energy but was kinda…I don’t know…annoying. Lol. DId anyone experience that here?

I think Hypothyroidism and Hyperthyroidism are way different. You can get very sick and even die from Hyperthyroidism.

Oh, well, I thought over-medication tipped me hyper but maybe that’s not the right term. At any rate, my level of medication, which was perfect for so long, is now way way too much and that was the oddest, most unsettling feeling! Better now.

I have hypothyroidism & a goiter & was thinking about starting a Keto diet, my medication is Levothyroxine 50mcg 1x a day but I still feel fatigued so I end up taking 2x a day & have an increase of energy. But when I got blood work done my T4 hormone was too high so they had me take a half one. Been on thyroid medication since I was 13. I do exercise but it’s hard when I feel sluggish & have no energy. I read on how a Keto can be bad for Hypo & low-carb diet will not give me the energy I need since the T4 isnt converting. I’ve tried fasting which sem is like it helped but when I tried to eat my stomach would hurt & I’d be in the bathroom. So for those who have been on it, since their aren’t many studies on Hypo & Keto I figured I’d ask individuals about their opinion if they’ve done the same thing.
