Thoughts on eating egg everyday?

(Rosemary Easter) #21

I have 4 eggs and bacon for breakfast every day and so far feel fine.

Cage free organic eggs are fabulous, but if I really crank my egg consumption up (more than 6 a day), it’s sharts o’ plenty

I fry my eggs in bacon grease. Soooooo gooood!!

(Sophie) #24

Speaking of eggs, my friend brought me 3 dozen farm fresh eggs yesterday. I already had 1.5 doz in the fridge. Just took out my first custards made in the SV…yet another way to eat eggs everyday!

Definitely want to dump the sunflower oil, but eggs are the perfect food aren’t they?

EGGS are my favorite food in the whole world!!

I may be simple but nothing and I mean nothing beats
boiled eggs + dash of Himalayan pink salt = ALL I NEED TO LIVE!

Can’t remember the article but the take away is to eat chicken, eggs, fish. Wish I could remember why. A rabbit hole I went down

I loves me some Cackleberries too! And done in every way possible, with the possible exception of raw.

They have the added benefit of being relatively cheap where I live too! If you don’t have a aversion to industrialization in animal husbandry, you can buy eggs cheaper than about any protein, and they ALSO have a lot of FAT!

I usually buy Pasture Raised which supposefully have a better Omega 3 to Omega 6 Ratio, but are more expensive. I could live on just eggs for quite a spell.

P.S. I know ā€˜supposefully’ isn’t a word, but neither is Cackleberries.

Excuse my British ignorance but what on earth is a crackle Berry?

(Allie) #36

I’m assuming it’s a name for an egg but even being UK born and bred, I’ve never heard it before.

Looked it up…

Cackleberry was a well used slang word for egg during the 1950s.

I feel young :joy:

Thank you for that I had no idea. I see my auto correct didnt know either. Bum nuts has passed me by too… I mean why??

Re: cackleberries and bum nuts: Colonists… makin’ up all that slang and ruining the Queen’s English, eh guv?

(Leslie) #39

I have to agree with everyone else up to this point; eggs are fabulous, sunflower oil is problematic

I’m glad to see others are giving you links to research.
I’m a huge fan of the grass fed butter. Kerigold is widely available in the US. I also cook with coconut oil.

Seed oils are really considered to be some of the most toxic foodstuffs on the market.

Keep educating yourself and keep calm and keto on
