There is no way I can eat 1800 calories

(Omar) #1

Pre breakfast
Three spoons of coconut oil + one spoon of ACV

Breakfast
Three scrambled eggs in butter

Dinner
One large sheep steak about 250 grams

I do not eat breakfast usually but because I do not feel hungry I am forcing my self to eat more.

If I do not force food into me, I will lose weight which I do not want.

I am 60 years male 5’ 8". 80 kg or 179 pounds

Fat making me feel full.

Do I need to up my carbs from 0-10. to 60 to be able to eat 2000 calories or even 1800

Thanks

Why would you jump from 0-10 up to 60? How bout 25-30 and see what that does? You’d still be doubling/tripling your carbs at that point, you’re near zero carb at this point, just upping to normal keto levels could stabilize your weight.

Everyone in my family is trying to gain or maintain (not lose) weight. We’ve found that calories do matter. Here’s what we do. Eat snacks that are calorie dense like nuts and seeds. Make smoothies using coconut cream. Make fat bombs for desserts.

If people trying to lose weight are doing IF than I would think to maintain or gain you could try eating smaller meals more frequently throughout the day.

I was trying to keep my insulin low as hormones balancing/healing strategy.

Because eating 2 scrambled eggs in butter is no more than 400 calories

And such large chunk of steak with butter is 800 calories. 3 spoons of coconut oil is roughly 300 calories. The deficit is 200 to 300 calories can not be gained from 20 grams of carbs.

I am not sure I got my macros figured out correctly.

The reason I do not want to make the deficit from fat because they make me even less hungry.

I would think that keeping your carbs at almost zero would be keeping your insulin in check anyway, but I’m sure someone more knowledgeable will chime in soon.

A whole avocado will give you roughly 300 calories. You just have to figure out the best way to get it into your day.

Either eat snacks. Or up carbs within the already scheduled meals.

The first will increase insulin.

While carbs also will increase insulin, the increase will be within the window of the main meals where insulin will be going up anyway.

That is why I am considering Dr Brett strategy of upping the carbs.
