The world is going insane - it might get worse before it gets better
Health-conscious meat eaters best recognize that vegans are basically trying to get rid of animal products.
Good thing meat eaters out number them, by a HUGE margin.
Even some people who claim to be vegan are not. They will eat an egg in something, they use cane sugar (all those dead snakes, oh the horror of it!) and some will even eat meat if a family member hunts it, oh and don’t forget the fish.
Basically terrorism. Veganism is like a slow burning house fire. It’s not going to kill you short term, but if you hang out long enough you’re fucked. Sorry if this offends vegans, but the body and nature in general gives no shits about “ethics”, but it does care about “survival”.
This is true, but they are well-funded and have a pretty robust propaganda machine in the US Government.
That’s true, but the power of the vegan/vegetarian lobby kinda scares me! They are very influential. The thought of living in a world without red meat, eggs, butter is a bleak one.
What’s with all of the fear mongering? Vegans are a tiny but growing segment of the population. They can eat what ever they want and so can I. Someone on your street having tofu for dinner is not terrorism funded by the US government. I don’t mean to question anyone’s brain function, but is everyone on this thread sure they are eating enough fat?
I don’t mean to come off as fear mongering, but how many billionaires are backing carnivorous efforts or documentaries (on netflix, that millions see)? And Kellogg’s has a pretty massive influence over breakfast. Cereal is entirely plant-based and you can totally call it vegan.
Look up the history and intersection of the Seventh Day Adventist church, Harvey Kellogg, and the start of the dietician movement. Read on how these movements and others (CSPI) have profoundly influenced government food policy and recommendations. Why do you think there’s all the continued nonsense about cutting down on animal products from most dietary advice? That shit didn’t start with Ancel Keys. I don’t actually think meat is going anywhere but to underestimate the power of the vegan lobby on public policy is to be naive. Vegans might be a small segment of the population but their cause is aggressive and very well funded.
Ask Oprah Winfrey if the beef industry has any clout in this country and in the courts. She ended up with a gag order. She could not say anything about beef & its nutrition etc. due to losing that HUGE legal case. All the ag industries have lobbyist rice, wheat,& livestock, etc.
I for one, do not have any fears about the vegans taking away my eating rights, just like I would not dream of taking away their right to eat the way they want. I’m an ex-vegetarian, I still love veggies, heck I love grains too. But for my health and well being, I have given up a lot of grains and veggies. But I won’t even force my husband who has health issues, high cholesterol, T2D, to not eat anything. I can only lead by my example. He has cut most of the sugary stuff out of his diet, but he must have his biscuits and gravy.
Thank you. I’m from Texas. The cattle industry is hardly powerless. I remember the Oprah case. It was because of that case that Dr.Phil was inflicted on the world. Kellogg is one of my favorite historical nuts. I have read several books on him and the larger health movements of the nineteenth century. There is no conspiracy.
As an Austinite, I wish the cattle industry could use some of that “power” to make it legal for stores to carry raw milk from local dairy farms.
When I cooked for a summer camp I had vegans and vegetarians alike sneaking bacon early in the morning. I knew their secret and kept it for them but sure gave 'em heck for it.
Wow that soy fake meat is so good for you because it comes from a factory and not from nature. What other foods are made in a factory that is good for you.?twinkies? No thanks I’ll eat my animals and thier fat
