The Ultimate FrankenFast

(Liz) #1

Listen I want to lose the weight, but I also don’t want to salute my own skin flag as it flaps in the wind during what should be my great moment of self-appreciation and celebration at the -70 lbs mark. That’s not what’s written in the stars for me, I’m going to do everything I can to avoid having to get skin removal surgery.

So here are the three recommendations I’ve found for tightening up the ol’ body wrapper.

1.) water fasting
2.) bone broth fasting
3.) Collagen supplements
4.) Exercise/getting swole bro

Now, I can do these individually I’m sure. But with a certain amount of madness I wonder if it’s possible to hook all four up together. I realize I added another one there at the end, but the more the merrier.

Idea: Like a three day water fast but still taking collagen supplements and then on day four having just the bone broth and doing mild exercise. Day five I’ll continue to have bone broth and some solid food and regular exercise. Then have like four days of regular keto eating with strength training and regular exercise.

And loop this FrankenFast until I tighten like a goddamn shrinkey-dink.

I don’t know if this is a feasible or ¿good? way of going about things. But if anybody is equally fascinated I’d love to guinea pig this thing.

Is there anything I should be concerned about heath-wise if I go go go for gold here?

:joy::rofl::joy: Jesus, we need a spew emoji!!! Hot tea all over my keyboard this morning!

I don’t know about collagen supplements. I always thought that only worked if you produced it, not took it internally, but I’m sure someone will be along to help with that later. As for the fasting, it doesn’t sound crazy or unusual to me. Exercise is great if you feel up to it, or not. I say try it and see how you like it. The only thing I wouldn’t do is mention the fasting to anyone near & dear. You’ll probably get lots of flack about it, like you’re starving yourself and going to die crap and who needs that when you’re on a mission?

Skin recovers, especially if you are young or haven’t been fat for 60years. Every time I have lost weight (,slowly) the skin eventually caught up. Yes all the actions you mention will help as will TIME. As you get healthy.

I think you would probably do better to stagger them. Collagen is protein, and protein interrupts autophagy.*
Otherwise, this sounds like a good plan! Alternate keto + strength training + collagen/bone broth with fasting days. I won’t join you now but please keep us posted!

*autophagy is influenced by many things and of course is different for everyone, but in any case protein seems to halt it

Oh dear Lord I am doomed!

Thank you for your contribution, I love that information. God stab me in the kidneys if I do a three day water fast and then ruin any prospective autophagy with collagen pills.

HNYAH! chucks collagen pills into the sunset

Maybe consider silica to help collagen production. I take diatomaceous earth for silica and notice a difference in my skin and hair.

Interesting…I’ve never heard of this. I noticed a dramatic improvement in my lousy skin once I started supplementing with Iodine.
