The strug is real

Leanne Vogal is a big proponent of carbing up. She is also dairy free.

Her book had three different “Keto” paths with meal plans. One classic Keto, one carb up Keto, and I can’t recall the third.

I don’t recommend her meal plans for beginners though. Or anyone who doesn’t want to spend a fortune on specialty ingredients and a whole lot of time in the kitchen.

I followed her classic Keto 4 week meal plan to start off. It gave me a good base to start Keto, but I was glad when I was done with it. Couldn’t wait to add dairy!!!

Yes, exactly - you are right, Chris. “Heavy Weight Cream” - where in the heck did I get that “weight”?

IRON!! Check your iron. No amount of perfect eating can make up for it if you are low. Hair falling out and low energy are classic clues. I was going mad trying to work out what I was doing wrong and doc almost laughed when he worked it out. So simple. So important. X

I have that book! At first I really loved it, but now I have mixed feelings too. Her recipes are delicious, but fairly labor intensive and higher carb than I like.
She says with hair loss you have to eat more carbs. (I don’t want to…) She believes that most women can’t do 20g of carbs or less. But I know anecdotally that women succeed with this for many years.

I got frustrated with the errors in the book. Every single week was messed up where the shopping list would call for a certain amount of meat but you would go to the corresponding recipie and it would call for as much as double what you bought. It was so frustrating.
But OMG the Cajun Pork Belly!!!
A few others I really liked too, but that one is amazing!

Fatigue and hair loss are also signs of a thyroid problem. Dry skin and brain fog too.

You could also look into adrenal fatigue. Often when your thyroid starts to go, your adrenal system will try to hold you together for a while, then it all crashes.
