The right foods for decreased blood pressure and increased HDL?

(Ryan) #1

Hey guys,

I’ve been on this diet for a few months now, and my labs are looking out of whack. HDL hasn’t changed (Still below 35), LDL has sky rocketed to 142, triglycerides has sky rocketed to >200, and blood pressure is still at a hypertensive level.

Was seeing if anyone has any advice on how to get the positive ketogenic benefits I’m looking for. I eat mostly beef, eggs, cheese, lamb and green leafy veggies with chia seeds. What foods should I be eating to raise my HDL, lower blood pressure and lower my triglycerides?

What is your current body composition?

I’m 5’10, 190 lbs. I eat roughly 1700-1800 calories a day and track my macros daily. Most days its 60-75% fat. 20-30% protein and 1-8% carbs. I’m probably between 14% and 20% fat I exercise 30 minutes daily, and I’ve lost 15 lbs so far, but I’m mainly doing this for health.

You are relatively lean, so this sounds like you are potentially a hyperresponder

I’m curious if I should drop the diet, or if there is something diet wise I can do to improve things.
