The real skinny on fat

(Sheri Knauer) #1

I did a search and did not see anything on this so I apologize if it has indeed been discussed. I watched a new documentary series this morning. I think it is well done and look forward to future episodes. The only thing I do wish is that it is a bit shorter. Ive only watched one episode so far and it was a bit over 2 hours long so if each upcoming episode is that long, its hard to get a 2 hour time slot to watch it, but its doable and there is something called a pause button, lol. http://www.therealskinnyonfat.com/optin/

It’s on here somewhere…
I signed up yesterday to watch it but can’t watch two hours in a day, just don’t have time, and now they’re telling me episode one has expired and I have to watch episode two which I guess will be another two hours I can’t watch… meh.

(Allan L) #3

damn, was about to register and watch a bit, not sure if I will bother now.

(Allie) #4

@allan it seemed like it would be worth watching if you can spare the time, I can’t. I tried going back into the episode one email link but even that now takes me to episode two.

(Sheri Knauer) #5

Still worth it and there’s more to come

(Allie) #6

Not if I can’t even finish the first episode, I was only 30 mins in and now they’ve removed access.

You can get past this by adding a +1 to your email address…

Say your email is shortstuff@gmail.com

Register as shortstuff+1@gmail.com

Gmail will see it as the same email address and you will get the link but their server will think you are a new user.

What are they marketing? This was obviously a lot of work, what are they selling? Sorry naturally suspicious

(Sheri Knauer) #9

You can see the first episode on Youtube. They are not selling anything. Just talking about real food and ketogenic diet. The 2nd episode talked to Montel Williams, Dr Don Crum, and Mark Sisson. Here is a link to the first episode, which I have not yet watched. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0rV40xAntY

Thanks @allan but won’t that just mean I have the same problem again? They’re expecting everyone to spend two hours a day watching it, the second episode expires in a few hours too… doesn’t make any sense they way they’re doing it.

(Allan L) #11

Made it to 55 minutes and had enough. But agree its fairly good. Will catch the rest over the weekend.

(Todd Allen) #12

I’m about half way through the first episode and agree it is fairly good, though at the beginning I had my doubts because of the infomercial feel of the first presenters. Kind of reminded me of a couple vegan flicks where the true believers can’t wait to breathlessly share their revelations that will not only save you but will save the world. Fortunately they quickly move on to others such as Nina Teichholz who add substance to the hype.

Here is the link to episode one that is on youtube now.

Yea, long but good topics and interviewees. I did notice that Costco is carrying a book by Naomi Whittel, Glow15: A Science-based Plan to Lose Weight, Rejuvenate Your Skin, and Invigorate Your Life

Thanks !

I blinked then missed the email to watch
Was Gonna just up on it
Like others said, it was over

Time to get “ the Fat on skinny “

I’ll check it out

Watched most of the you tube episode. I watch a lot of documentaries on Amazon and Netflix but honestly having trouble making through this one. Keeps repeating the same about Ancel Keys and while this might be good for newbies, so far I have not learned anything much new

Are the rest of the episodes better?

(Pete A) #16

Perfect, I’ll watch on youtube!

(Lesley) #17

Agreed. It’s very frustrating. I got sent to episode 2 first and then I got cut off then when I tried to get back I could only get episode 3. The time limit is Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Given up now.

(Allie) #18

I replied to one of the emails telling them how ridiculous their time limit was because it stops people watching and unsubscribed from the messages. Not worth the hassle.

(Karen) #19

Watching episode 5 of “The real skinny on Fat” and the fellow talking about the product. “Prolong” for fasting mimicking. How is the keto diet not doing the same thing?

Despite any potential promise I gave up on this. I think what they are selling is simply their video. The limited free viewing is designed to make it hard to impossible to watch it all. They probably expect that many will buy the video to catch the parts they missed. I didn’t watch very much as I wasn’t willing to sit through the frequent pauses of the streaming service, but saw enough to find the hosts and the repetitive points of multiple guests tiresome. I think it could have been cut down into a shorter video of higher value.
