The pollen is so bad

(Eric - The patient needs to be patient!) #1

I’m right now on campus at the University of Richmond in Richmond va. That is where I work.

The yellow pine pollen is so bad it looks like dense smoke. I tried to take a picture but it did not capture the reality I an seeing.

Everything in the Savannah, GA area seems to have a yellow/green haze. It makes my contact lenses angry.

That’s so good I had to save a copy!

Our worst of the pollen was a month or so ago, but I’m pretty far south of you. It wouldn’t wash off the cars, you pretty much have to scrape it off with a Scotch-Brite.

Marking that down in the “Reasons never to go South” book.

@djindy  The south is beautiful though, love Louisiana. :man_cook:t3: :hot_pepper::hot_pepper::shrimp::shrimp::crab::crab:(too bad there’s not a crawfish emoji!) :cowboy_hat_face:

Meh tree sperm.

I don’t miss pollen season down in Florida. It coated everything and when it rained, the water that ran along the street gutters was choked with yellow.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #8

:lobster: won’t do? A lobster is just a big crayfish, or a crayfish just a small lobster—however you want to look at it.

#9

Eye of the beholder, I guess. I actually have been South many times throughout my life, just not usually my choice.

Seasonal allergies significantly improved when I moved from Virginia to Oregon. But there’s still a solid two weeks I have to take allergy medicine to get through the day during Spring. Keto didn’t cure mine lol

. . . and proud of it!

Born 'n Raised! And last night was my worst for coughing & crap, even though I’m in TN now, it’s been really bad the last 2 weeks. Even my fucking teeth ache to the point I was thinking I needed another root canal! :expressionless:

(Lauren) #14

Technically I was born and raised in Richmond Hill, but no one ever knows where that is lol. Living on the south side now. I’ve lived in the area 28 of my 36 yrs (ages 5-10 in Mexico, and 3 yrs of adult bad decision in South Dakota).

My daddy’s family always had their reunion at Ft. McAllister. Cannot even count the number of times I’ve been out there over the course of my lifetime. My family made Grey Brick and there’s a load of them sunk in the bend of the river around McAllister somewhere. History runs deep in the South.

(Carl Keller) #16

Don’t forget crawdads and apparently Aussies call them yabbies.

(Lauren) #17

Wow! It sure does. My family lives a little further out than Ft. McAllister, but my great grandfather was a brick mason in Richmond Hill during the Ford Era. So much history.

We have just gone through 2 months of unreal yellow green pollen here in Southwest Florida. I can wash everything down in the morning and need to do it again by noon. I have always suffered from allergies, clogged sinus, sneezing and itchy eyes until I discovered Cetirizine Antihistamine. Where has this stuff been all my life, $15 for 400 pills at Sam’s Club.

My allergies were cleared up easily from taking one pill of cetirizine per day during allergy season pre-keto.

Haha, was over at UR the other day and as bad as the whole area is, it looked like extra was trucked in or something!

(Lauren) #20

My family calls them “mud bugs” but around other people we use both crawfish or crawdad. Never crayfish. Ever.
