So we recorded a podcast for total newbies.
We hope that this can be the episode you can send your family members to when they are curious about what you are doing but our regular science heavy shows are too deep.
Hope you like it.

I did a double take when I heard the ending music bed come up so early…surely it’s not finished already!..but yep, a nice compact <20 minute podcast. Just the thing to whet the appetite of someone who wants to gauge this way of eating. This is an easy sell to someone that asks about it; just 20 minutes to chage your life.
And interestingly, if you are a keto beginner, no mention of cutting calories or exercising.
Yeah exercising and calorie counting don’t really work to draw down stored energy because the math is chaotic. As you reduce the amount you eat, your body reduces the amount of energy it is using. This is how we end up with the crazy situation of people who compete on the biggest loser gaining back all the weight they lost 6 years later - despite maintaining their apparent caloric deficit and the same higher rate of exercise.
For me, that’s the big appeal of this way of eating. The restoration to health has been almost effortless. I was never any good at counting calories, and exercise for its own sake has never held any appeal for me.
So glad that you made this podcast, I just sent the link to a family member this morning Short, sweet and full of information to get you on the keto road. Thanks guys.
I did a lot of exercising…300km, 400km, 600km cycle rides…and I think the advice I followed did me more harm than good. This was in the days when Carb Loading was supposedly good for performance. All it did for me was to increase my weight.
And when you’re training year in, year out, and just not getting any better, the stress and depression begins to get you down. But, honest, I was eating healthy wholegrain, low fat stuff…tons and tons of it !
Yes, I know, it’s obvious now, isn’t it ?
Nowadays, I don’t force myself into any form of competition, I ride purely for pleasure. It makes a big difference.
Remember the bit at the beginning of Easy Rider where he hangs his watch on a cactus plant …I really get it now !
