The need to exercise

I know exercise isn’t technically needed to lose weight on Keto, but there’s just something about the unwind time after a crazy physical day that’s so rewarding.
I started out my day with a 7 mile run.
Then I unloaded 2 yards of mulch (a whole truck load full).
After that I worked on digging up anther overgrown, neglected flower bed.

In all I have over 28,000 steps on the FitBit.
And there’s nothing like physical labor to make you forget about food altogether. It was going to be a OMAD for me, but I feel so good, I’ve spontaneously decided to make today my first full day fast.

There is definitely something to be said for endorphins! Not to mention feeling strong and tight bodied … loving my exercise too! Though some days are harder than others to motivate!! Sounds like you had a busy day like mine was yesterday - though I doubt I was anywhere near 28,000 steps!!!

Weight training session at 7AM, came home to scour the oven to sparkling (?! who does this!?! LOL) walked 2 miles later then proceeded to re-pot two of my dahlias into bigger containers on my rooftop - up and down stairs a few times, carrying heavy potting soil up and down those stairs, etc… I’m sore and tired today, not feeling on top of the world like I had been the previous couple days. hahah. Maybe I’ll have a PBC with extra C8… Have a happy fast!!!

We do keto hoping it will improve the health and performance of the individual cells in the body. Stated that way exercise does the same and of course the right diet and exercise are synergistic and it’s debatable which one is more important.

I was a dedicated lto lifting and fitness 30 years ago and now I’m back as of Febuary. The biggest improvements today are how easy it is to get lean, better to show off muscle, controling eating frequency, and walking. I was eating something 35 times a week. That is now down to 12 and I believe my metabolism, particularly my stomach, appreciates the rest time. The walking is reversing decline of a sore left hip that got to where I was avoiding walking. Since the weather improved I’m walking 30-40 miles a week at a brisk pace and enjoying it.

exercise also increases ketones too! I started my fitness journey almost a year ago, WAY before I even thought about changing my eating habits, let alone being on the keto diet. I LOVE my workouts everyday and can’t imagine life without them. I’ve become so passionate about working out and before last year I had never been an “exercise person” before. I always hated exercise. But the difference in my mood and the 30 pounds I’ve lost just from exercise, without changing how I ate has made me feel so much more confident. Now that I’ve incorporated the keto diet into my life, it just feels natural that exercise and proper diet without processed foods would go hand in hand. And when I learned that exercise also increased ketone production, BOOM! It’s the perfect combination. Love it!
