The Magic Pill (AMA silencing)

(Cywgdave) #1

Hey folks, just came across this,

https://www.dietdoctor.com/the-amas-attempt-to-silence-the-magic-pill-backfires

Anyone have any idea of where (or what) address would be suitable to email the AMA and thank them for bringing the movie to our attention?

Having watched relatives and friends suffer from following similar advice there is nothing like rubbing salt in a wound… I have gotten to the point that the more I can return the favour the better.

Honestly Dave, I wouldnt waste my time and effort trying to convince those ba$#**ds to change their mind.
Having worked in the medical paradigm for over 40 years, one lone voice will do very little to change attitudes.
What works is motivating public opinion.
Spread the word to the masses about the message, and get the groundswell to force change on the dinosaurs.
It is happening.
The great unwashed public is not as dumb as the “machine” would like to think.

I gotta say. I love keto. I’m 3 months in and 28 lbs down. I love my energy level and my mental state. But that was not a very good documentary.

Whoops, left a long (ish) reply bit put it in my other thread, Tim Noakes Innocent! 2nd Time!

Sorry to all, unintentional.

I’m the father of a doctor … a Neonatal Pediatrician so not so helpful to the old man sometimes. We have been talking about my diet/health for a few years an I find it interesting how little training doctors get on diet/nutrition when obesity is the root cause of everything according to the media.

I have read that the medical community as a whole supports therapy that is tested and proven to treat a particular disease state. There doesn’t seem to be this kind of research to show HF/MP/LC eating and fasting is the answer yet.

Without proof are doctors challenged by lawyers and insurance companies to stay away … since lawsuits would be hard to defend if things go wrong?

It might surprise you to know that a growing body of evidence shows that low-carb, high-fat diets do work and are safe over the long term. There is now actually more evidence in favor of a ketogenic diet than there is in favor of the diet-heart hypothesis that fat is the killer. (Easy enough to do, of course, since there is actually no evidence in favor of the latter hypothesis.) For more information, read The Big Fat Surprise, by Nina Teicholz.

I’m wondering how long it takes for Keto and fasting to become mainstream … taught to doctors and so on.

The good news is that on keto, we might live long enough to see it!
