The egg fast diet

(Tom) #1

How many times a month can you or should you do it

(Full Metal KETO AF) #2

Do you like it that much? I think most people do it for a reset when stalled. Unless you’re getting significant amounts of them down I would think overtime it would work against you too often. Mixing things up gets the best results IMHO. :cowboy_hat_face:

I do love eggs. so it’s kinda easy

#4

Do fast eggs have legs? Who likes runny eggs?

(Full Metal KETO AF) #5

But what’s your goal with it. Mono food diets are lacking in some nutrients over time with the possible exception of all beef. You can always experiment and keep records of what happens. If it’s working and you’re feeling well then go with it. But personally I wouldn’t do it more than a week or so per month. I imagine you’re augmenting that with butter, lard or some kind of fat right? :cowboy_hat_face:

Yes I still use olive oil. And mct oil.
This is the first time I have started the egg fast. And only on day three wich is probably longest I will go.
But usually always include eggs in my daily meal plan anyway. Wich makes the egg fast easy for me.
So after your input and thoughts I think I will do it at least once a month.

Wow, that’s a lot of rules for just eating eggs, except that’s not what they’re advocating. I have heard of many people doing just bacon and eggs once or twice a day. Personally I don’t think six or more mini meals is healthy for weight loss. You’re causing insulin spikes every time you eat. Dairy can work against weight loss for a lot of people. I eat over 90% meat and eggs. I eat about 12-20 ounces of meat and 4-6 eggs per day. I eat some cheese. I eat vegetables in small amounts a few days per week usually. I have lost all I need doing this and am pretty much in maintenance now with some body recomposition being more my focus. I weigh 150 lbs today and I am 5’10” and 60 years old. I do BPC fasts for 2-3 days now and then. I do TMAD pretty much everyday eating within an early 5 hour window. I don’t restrict calories. I do track to be able to make choices from my acquired data. Lately that has meant eating a lot more and still losing weight in body fat. I typically have 12-17g. of carbohydrates. I use the Fat Fasting with BPC much like you are using the egg fast. Is this egg fast something you’re trying of have you done it before? Many mono diets work because people loose their appetite for the allowed food, boredom means you’re less quick to eat and limit your food intake as a result. In this case if you’re doing that often you might slow your fat burning metabolism to match dietary intake. Eating generously and fasting without food is a better combination than under eating long term.

Lost a pound a day just in the first two days on the egg fast. Trying break my stall I’m at 226 from 295.
I’m 5’10 as well 52 years old don’t think I will ever be at 150 or even imagine it I like to be around 195 or 200 would be good for me

I was right on the border between overweight and obese when I started. I was 205. I am an amputee though and I get around 100x better at this weight, no joke. I also had diabetes although not yet on insulin. That’s gone. I never thought I would be good with this much weight loss. When I was younger and fit at 168lbs. 15 years ago I thought that would be a good goal. I’m not as muscular now and still was pretty fat at 168lbs last February. I had a small bump recently from a trip but lately 146 has been normal for me. 32” waist is a lot better than 38”, I don’t think I look too thin. But I would like to gain some poundage in muscle. The point being I don’t think about weight as much as body fat percentage now. KETO will help you find your ideal weight which may be quite a bit lower than you think you can go and look good, unless you have a lot of muscle and bone mass. I don’t. I was definitely high fat! Congratulations on 69 lbs. of lost fat, that’s awesome progress Tom. :cowboy_hat_face:

Thank you. And congrats to you as well. See your a sous chef. I’m a chef as well. 25 years in. Think that is the hardest part about being on a diet for me any ways 10 years ago I was at 350lb went to the gym everyday for a year cut the carbs. And got down to 210lbs after a year of the gym kinda slowed down on it and then not go at all and eventually gained most of it back up to 295 anyway. So started keto back in May of this year and just by dieting alone back down to 226. So hopefully by thus life style I can keep it off.

Sous Chef is a badge the site used to give out when you posted recipes in the forum. The guy who was on top of that isn’t here any longer. I have a thread “Full Metal KETO recipes”.

But I did work in restaurants most of my life. Mainly cooking Sichuan Chinese food and some baking. I think it’s easier for us who are food pros. I’m great at using what’s on hand to make food that’s more than the sum of it’s parts. I am pretty good at taking non KETO recipes and converting them. I am also good at improvisation and herb and spice use. So you and I aren’t as lost converting over to KETO although we might have more food addictions! I never thought I could leave the carbs behind so easily. :man_cook:t3:

I like your version.

Keep working at it Tom. You’ll get there.

Egg fast generally is only used to break a stall. I have done it a few times, it works, but I wouldn’t go incorporating it weekly or even every few weeks. If I’m “fasting” while “eating” I usually incorporate more things. Like bacon and eggs and butter. I’m headed more and more carnivore which for me will end up of beef, bacon, eggs, butter. For beef I’ll primarily do ground beef but I will add in some steak here or there.

It occurs to me that you could make 12 chaffles with butter out of those ingredients! Mmmm I could do that :rofl::rofl:
