The Daily Mail Does it Again!
People should cut down on butter, cheese and red meats because the saturated fat they contain is bad for the heart, a Government committee has declared.
The fats have been demonised since the 1970s after they were linked to high cholesterol, but some evidence also suggests they can have health benefits.
Etc!
I hate articles like this. Yes, if you eat a standard diet where you eat from all the foods groups (and a lot of it), then I can see where eating butter and cream (and biscuits and pastries) would be harmful.
But those of us doing keto know that cutting out processed carbs and replacing it with fats and protein is actually healing our bodies.
I guess demonizing saturated fat since the '70’s has solved the obesity problem. Oh wait, no it hasn’t.
Just ridiculous. Someone had a deadline and needed to drive controversy and web traffic. Just like these people that imply keto is a cult or put ‘bacon’ in their posts. Shameful !!!
Just remember two things:
-
Editorial content is there purely for the purpose of separating the advertisements. If they could get away with printing all ads and no articles, they would do it.
-
Some of the biggest advertisers in the world either make processed food, or manufacture the raw materials for processed food.
Follow the money.
Ah…they got some things right…
and keep in mind that on Keto - the article title does not make sense…
But, for the general population - that is over consuming carbs (especially processed carbs) - this advice might mitigate the negative health effects of combining high carb and high fat (which leads to obesity and the assorted complications due to excess calories and hormonal dysregulation).
Just as feeding family members high-fat Keto meals while they also continue with SAD - unless you are shooting for (and succeed in) changing them over to %100 Keto - you are likely making things worse simply adding more fat to SAD.
