The Butter Dilemma

(Shromona Das) #1

And I am back! I am feeling so much better. I am not losing my head over losing inches. I am just focusing on eating clean, sticking to nothing but keto meals and exercising. However, I gradually feel less hungry. I’m easily full, I don’t crave food only because I have made a bunch of keto ice cream or cheese puffs or whatever. No. I eat if I’m hungry. That is usually one large meal in the afternoon, a small breakfast which is totally optional (sometimes I eat, sometimes I don’t) and a small, healthy dinner. Unfortunately, I am not strictly eating before sundown. Though I’m sure I’ll gradually be there. I used to feel disadvantaged if I did not eat loads of butter. “You are not eating enough fat” I used to tell myself. I do eat butter, cheese, olive oil, almonds and stuff, but I do not stuffing myself with them. I am worried, still, that I am eating more protein than fat. I am tracking my food, measuring it, but not counting calories. Because, if you remember, there was a time when i was eating around 500-800 cal. I didn’t think that it was a healthy choice. So i am not counting cal. But is there a minimum fat goal that I should reach? Can I have more protein than fat? Is that keto at all?

Dr. Benjamin Bikman has some great research about how protein works when in ketosis. Here is a link to a short video but I would incoursge you to listen to any of his longer videos or podcast interviews. He is very knowledgeable. His research is very impressive. Good luck to you.

Thanks Stacy!

I personally tend to lose more when I get my fat in, but it seems to be different for everyone. Some people say eat to satiety and some people say get your fat in. If what you are doing is working, keep at it. If not, shake things up a bit.
