The actual Flu and Keto

I was up all night getting sick. I have a fever, body aches and chills. The only thing that sounds good to me is crackers!! Help. What do you eat while on keto and when you have the ACTUAL flu?

Ya. Had that happen and Saltine crackers were all I wanted. Try some broth? Can you get anyone to make you some chicken soup (no noodles, just meat and veggies)? I think I was also able to get mild scrambled eggs down (no extra fat). It mostly ended up being very low calorie borderline fasting days. Take care.

Broth can be very gentle on the stomach. Heal quickly…

Agree with broth. I had the flu in the winter and I also drank peppermint tea and ginger tea. Camomile is good too. I did resort to diet ginger ale at one point.

That is such a good question, I wondered about that too. I went for the diet ginger ale and used ginger essential oil right on my stomach. I also wanted crackers (I think that’s just because it’s what I always did) or the BRATS diet. I don’t think I ate anything though. It’s probably just as well, to let the stomach have a break from food.

So sorry you are ill! I woke up barfing from a migraine this morning & so far I’ve been able to eat salted macadamia nuts, & some raw almonds. I made a drink with hot water poured over lemon & ginger slices & took something for the nausea. Good luck & heal up fast!
