That loving feeling... Not so much

Hey all,

Day 79 here. About 2 weeks into keto I asked about this very edgy feeling I was having. I upped my sodium along with making sure my potassium and magnesium were good. That seemed to have helped for quite a while. Fast forward to yesterday. I almost feel like I’m struggling again. Feeling very anxious, and a heavy chest feeling. Very odd I’d say. I’ve upped my sodium again so I’m typically up in the 4500 mg range trying to feel OK. I’m wondering if I’m going through another upping of metabolism or some other healing. My BG has dropped to 73 from 88 most days. My resting heart rate used to be 75-80 and is now low 60s. My blood ketones are what I’d consider high for me at 2.0. My macros are right on with keto. I get between 1400-2000 calories depending on the day. Hoping someone might see a glaring issue I’m missing or just that I’m adapting again and KCKO!

Thanks for reading.

Are you re-hydrating sufficiently?

(Mandy) #3

I believe I am. I drink, on average, 150 ounces of water a day.

Do you get any exercise or movement in your day? Maybe you just need some sunlight and fresh air? Do you have new stress in your life?

(Aimee Moisa) #5

Oh, and how is your menstrual cycle doing?

(Mandy) #6

Ohhh no… Ha. I work from home so sunshine, ehhh. Not so much.

Actually great. Way better than before keto!

I did the same thing for about a week around the same mark as you, I just upped my salt a bit ( salt tablets for me since I’m on the go a lot) and it seems to disappeared for me again, I adjusted my macros some as I mostly eat carnivore now and it’s helped me.

I’ll try upping salt. I may have to look into tablets. I already add it to my water and food. If I salt my food any more it will be inedible. Lol. That’s crazy to me as I’ve always been that person that way over salted food!

That’s why I got tablets, especially for on the go since I have a auto immune disorder and I need to make sure I’m consistent in salt.
