Thanksgiving overload

So I stuffed myself yesterday on turkey, cabbage slaw, grean beens with cheese, olives and deviled eggs. No gravy on my turkey cause it was thickened with flour and cornstarch. Instead I opted for the juicier dark meat as has always been my preference. My follow up was a piece of Keto cheesecake. No wine or pop, just water to wash it all down.

Yes, I was stuffed and felt mildly uncomfortable. Late last evening, I relieved myself. I slept very well, perhaps due to the tryptophan affect. This morning, I have had two such “relief” visits to the bathroom, each overly productive.

I’m wondering what, if any effect on weight this protein overload will do or if somewhat massive bowel traffic will have on my weight.

Anyone else experience similar?

In the bigger picture, I don’t think one day of heavy carbs or protein is going to do any major or permanent damage. I had 3x more carbs and protein that I normally do on Thanksgiving and I barely noticed any change. I’ve read about others getting sick and throwing up from it. Everyone reacts a little different and any weight gain from 50-75 carbs is a drop in the bucket compared to what we put in our bodies over the course of a week or month.

One day of eating like that isn’t going to kill you, it just may make you a little uncomfortable as you’re currently experiencing.

My gf is Greek, I had like 5 of her yiayia’s dolmathes (grape leaves, stuffed with meat and rice). I made sure not to eat the corn cereal topping on the broccoli casserole, and I got dark meat turkey with no gravy. I also drank rum and Diet Coke. Surely this wasn’t the most Keto friendly meal, and yes I did feel overly stuffed afterwards. But I felt much better than I have for any previous thanksgiving. And yesterday I got back on the horse, just had a Keto lunch. Today I’m not even hungry and may try to fast until Monday.

KCKO

Give it a couple of days, you’ll be fine.

99% of my feast was very low carb. I’m just wondering if there could be any effect from the physical volume that went through me. I would say it was about 3 times my regular daily “production output”

Well, one consequence might be that your metabolism will speed up, and you’ll waste a bit more energy.

Didn’t do a ridiculous amount of non-keto food. But I did overeat, even on good stuff, along with a little of the sweet potatoes and even a very little bit of regular mashed potatoes. Did NOT do any ice cream or cookies or pies. I stuck to some keto pumpkin muffins with my coffee for dessert time, and that was fine, no feelings of being deprived.

The scale wasn’t kind to me the last couple of days. I’m guessing that within 3 or 4 days, I’ll be right back where I was before Thanksgiving as I suspect most is just water weight. Honestly not worried. There will probably be a day or two of intermittent fasting as well, not because of any kind of guilt or penance, but just because I may take a break from eating a meal or two as that kinda feels good when I’ve overeaten.

Just gonna KCKO.

P.S., I started a chuck roast in the sous vide on Wednesday night. I put a dry brine on it and bagged it up in a zip lock bag overnight in the fridge, then put it in the sous vide on Thursday, late morning. Had it for supper tonight (Saturday night). Got a compliment I wasn’t expecting. Daughter & son-in-law said it was one of the best they’ve ever had! Dang! It was good. The worst part of it, no leftovers… and I was kinda hoping for some steak & eggs tomorrow morning or the next. Couldn’t believe they ate that much of it. But it felt really good to make something for them that they liked that well. They’re pretty discriminating in their tastes.
