Textured Soy Flour

#1

Are products containing soy flour okay to eat on a keto diet plan?

Everything may be okay as ketosis happens if you eat little enough carbs (at least normally). Even if many of us have our own rules and blacklists.

Soy flour is quite carby so the amount should be low.

Wheat flour is 6 net carbs per Tbl and soy flour is 1.2 net carbs (couldn’t find textured in Chronometer so may be different) so 80% less which is a lot. It depends on what they are going to use it for and how much. A Tbl to thicken some gravy would be inconsequential… a fourth of a cup say in a biscuit would be 4.8 so it can add up quickly.

Yeah, not 80% carbs (or what but grains are somewhere around that if I remember correctly) but 30%… Still quite carby so the amount should be low just as I wrote before. Not something to use galore.
Some people consider high-carb items not good for keto, I don’t have this view, they may be used in moderation if it’s worth it for someone.

I don’t know the exact amount of textured soy flour there is as it’s just one of the ingredients in a “chilli no beans” product. I just wanted to use a little for flavoring. The other ingredients seem to be okay. It says serving size 1 cup contains 19 g.
