Testing ketones via blood

(Robert Dockstader) #1

Hi Guys, So I want to test keto es via blood and I am having the hardest time finding something locally.

I call a pharmacy and they instantly tell me urine strips. When I look online it says that diabetics use these meters for glucose and ketones.

Is there something specific I should be asking for? I don’t want to order it online and wait. I am impatient and want it now lol

You can get a meter at some pharmacies and it should measure keytones and glucose. If you have amazon prime, this is only a two day wait.

I would also recommend the Keto Mojo glucose/ketone monitor. The test strips are cheaper than other devices I’ve seen (though the ketone strips are still pricey). It will arrive pretty quickly if you order from Amazon and the company has great how to videos to get you started.

I don’t think the Mojo is available in brick & mortar stores, only online. In the interim, you can pickup a glucometer to measure blood glucose at any pharmacy and many big box stores. You may want to do this anyway because their BG strips are cheaper than those for the Mojo. I only use the Mojo for ketones.
