OK so I’m not sure what to title this exactly. But I’ve noticed that I have a higher tolerance to higher room temperatures this year. In years past, I was uncomfortable once the room temp got to around 74 degrees. This year, I’m usually not uncomfortable until it reaches around 80. I’ve actually felt a bit chilled around 76 degrees (especially at work where I sit still for long periods of time). I do have a sit-stand desk and try to move around as much as possible. I’m not complaining, but I am curious if anyone else has noticed the same thing.
Temperature Tolerance Higher?
I’m noticing this too! In the past when the temperature got into the high 70’s and up I would feel like I was dragging the world around. Moody, hot, and no patience at all. But since doing the Keto woe I’m finding that the temps don’t affect me hardly at all. I was surprised the other day that it was in the low 90s, but I wasn’t feeling dragged down or grumpy. This is a huge change for me!
I have come to love the heat which is a change from the days that I felt like I couldn’t breath when it got hot. I can do pretty much anything I normally do when it is not hot. I do however, need to replace fluids pretty regularly (if you get my drift).
Yep, yep. For years I had a very narrow and chilly range where I felt comfortable: 66-68! Now my comfort range is still pretty narrow, but definitely easier to achieve: 68-72. And I can tolerate a room into the 80s for a while without feeling like I’m going to pass out. We installed a big swamp cooler last year because our central AC simply wasn’t capable of cooling our house into my comfort zone. We haven’t even had to run it yet this year. AC season was usually early April through October for me before.
Hmm, I just thought it was my losing 40+ pounds that was making me more heat tolerant? Less insulation and all…
I’m thinking it will make me less cold tolerant, which will suck. I love winter.
Yup, it’s just got warm here and I’m not minding it for the first time. I definitely felt the cold more this winter though.
While I still prefer cooler temperatures, I do tolerate warm temperatures better than I used to.
