Ok, so I’ve got several tattoos. The last one I got about killed me. Could it be the location of the tattoo (full back) or do you guys think it could be a vitamin deficiency? My pain tolerance is usually very high and i typically sit well through getting inked but this one about killed me. Anyone else notice their pain tolerance changing?
Tattoo..pain..keto?
Have you had anything close to that size/duration done before? It can sometimes be more about time than location. Even a basic arm piece can be brutal if the needle is in the same general area for several hours.
I have full sleeves, legs, chest, hand, feet and so on tattooed and even though I’m only 2 months keto I haven’t noticed my pain tolerance any lower when getting tattooed. My latest was my hand although it hurt of course for me it was no different than my other ones pre-keto. Maybe the location? Is that your first tat in that area?
I’m a total newby, but my first thought was perhaps you have less of a fat layer now after being on Keto so the pain is more pronounced.
I’m getting another tomorrow (but it’s my first since going keto), I’ll report back. I haven’t found them too bothersome in the past.
I am heavily tattooed and noticed pain tolerance going down with age and the amount of work being done.
I havent seen any literature on perception of pain with changes in diet.
I had my first tattoos yesterday since going keto. Pain was still the same, but the feeling like I’m going to pass out part way in is totally gone. I think that sensitivity can change, but people also perceive pain differently in places. For some the back doesn’t hurt at all, for me the back was one of the worst ones I had. The stomach was the worst. I also think a full back would do it as well. Your body regardless of keto or not can only handle so much. But I certainly think I see improvements with other issues that had been a concern.
I would say it was the location. My tattoo artist told me there are a lot of unfinished back pieces because the are so painful.
