Target Weight, Holidays: Keep It Up Or Cheat A Bit?

#1

I’m about at my goal weight and wondering if now is time to cheat a bit around the holidays. I find a little toast and jam gives me more pep in my step for jogging so maybe it’s not a bad thing. I’ll just have to monitor if I start gaining weight and get strict again. I definitely want to keep track of calories and not pig out on donuts/cake or anything but I think winter is the best time to do this.

Congrats on reaching your goal weight!

It could be a nice little experiment to see how your body reacts, but I think maybe it might not be a good reaction since you are a self-admitted, chronic sugar/bread ex-adict. I can’t speak for myself, but I have noted from some forum members that sugary foods made them feel sick, induced cravings in many and caused a big increase in hunger for others. If you are really sure you want to try going down that road again, I suggest moderation. Try a small amount and don’t go hog wild on it.

The better option might be to add some safer carbs like nuts or fruit into your jogging routine. Even then, don’t go nuts on the carbs at first. We eased our way into ketosis so we should probably ease ourselves out.

But who really knows for sure what will happen. Keep us posted and good luck.

Flexibility is essential to my WOE, but I keep my weight within a 10 lbs range (145 to 155 lbs). I can easily gain or lose 2-3 lbs overnight, so I never want to be in a situation where it takes more than about a week to correct.
