Taking Dieting Too Far?

#1

What do you consider taking dieting too far?

  1. Anorexia/other health issues from not enough nutrients
  2. Frequent Extended Fasts?
  3. OMAD everyday?
  4. Exercise addiction (2x a day, everyday)?
  5. Others?
  6. Carnivore/Raw Meat/Vegan/Raw Vegan I think may be going too far
  7. Obsessing about diet where it’s mostly what you think about during the day

Anything that has a detrimental effect rather than a positive benefit.

Such as?

if the diet is proven to be cure for chronic illness, we may have no choice but extreme diets unless one’s priority is not life quality or lack of desire.

(Allie) #6

That would depend on the individual but if it gets to the point of causing them harm somehow rather than bringing them benefit, then it’s going too far.

Of all of those, “not enough nutrients” would definitely be going too far.

Aside from that, people usually get addicted to, or overdo, something. We’re a slave to our own habits. I’ve always said that the only overweight people that will lose weight and keep it off are those that found something to replace an addiction to food. The question is how healthy the new addiction is versus the old.

Be a slave to good habits rather than bad.

These are mental health issues and/or eating disorders.

My family think I am f’ing nuts because I frequently do extended fasting, and when I am eating it’s OMAD.
But I feel more fantastic now than I ever have in my whole life.
Who cares if i don’t eat for 5 days!:rofl:

Cutting off a limb to lose 15 lbs.

Well if that’s the line in the sand, then I must be okay as a carnivore

Not eating enough food to get necessary nutrients. Most people don’t exercise enough, so two times a day is not bad. I don’t know how EF would affect me, so I can’t speak to that. Being way below BMI is not a good thing. I have a neighbor who weighs 102, she is 5’4", I can tell you that is not good. And she is not trying to lose weight. Yesterday ate eggs, avocado, salmon, etc. Who knows why she is so thin?

^^^^ This.
Not getting enough nutrients is a huge issue.
Even the exercise gurus say you need to take rest days.
If all the can think about is what goes into your mouth, that is a big issue.
