Swollen ANKLES ..Hellllpp!

(Chris Cannon) #1

Good morning…
I have gotten through a bumpy week of my body going through low glucose levels due to my body having no more sugar to attack…(hopefully on my way to being fat adapted!!) The last 3 days i have felt MUCH better… So i started doing IF again the last two days…nothing crazy… Typically 12:12 or 16:8 depending on how good i feel… My problem is i just looked down and noticed my ankles are swollen!!! I have been supplimenting salt in my water and i also take maggnessuim.and i took an Epsom salt bath the other night…also a daily womens vitamin… I really hoping i dont need another suppliment… I also have iron every once ina while (always been anemic) but my stomach doesn’t handle the iron well… Im wondering if this is normal and what i can do to fix it??
Not enough salt? Too much salt?? When will this go away?? I just got over the foggy brain, unfocused, and irritable on top of anxiety stage. once i started feeling great…my ankles are swollen!! What is going on??
Also no injuries… First time this has happened im on my 30th day of keto and i love it… Also at a stall on the scale riggr now… 20lbs down but stuck there for 5 days ( maybe something to do with this swollen stuff) i also started going back to the gym also. Lightly tho.
ANY insight would be helpful! Thanks in advance

I had the same thing. It resolved itself when I went carnivore. Carnivore is the ultimate elimination diet.

I’m guessing I was sensitive to plant toxins, but I’ll do some experiments over the summer to find out if I start to miss eating anything.

Is this strictly meat?? Omg…that will be a rough one for me. Did you know orbfigure out what was causing the swelling??

Um…do you mean "ever figure out’? Yeah, it was an overload of inflammation so I researched what caused that, cut down coffee, eliminated alcohol and carbonated stuff, paid attention to emotional stressers, avoided idiots more, and saw a great reduction in edema.

Yes lol…darn phone… And this is just what i was wondering…maybe too much coffee. And i started drinking sparkling water. Dont drink alcohol. So im going to try to cut down for sure…ps the coffe just isnt that good anymore without all the extra stuff lol.
Hey! Do u have a handbook on that keeping idiots away??? Lol

I would get some labs done (metabolic panel) but dont change a thing until you do.

I told my doc I was LCHF for three months and we should do labs, she ordered them that day and I had then done the next day.

I was on strict Keto (for cancer, not weight loss) for 18 months with added salt and potassium (glucinate) to get to ~ 3500mg sodium and ~2500mg potassium daily; also Magnesium, Vit. D, K2, and a multi. My feet and ankles swelled for the first time in my life; plus i had regular early AM calf & feet cramping. I never did figure out if i was getting too much or too little sodium & potassium! Then i started doing cycles of 4 months off Keto (slow carb) and 2 months on; all the swelling went away completely and quickly, and it didn’t come back now that i’m 7 weeks into Keto again. I also haven’t had any calf cramps. This time around i’m getting way less of both – so i suspect that all dietary recommendations NEVER apply to every single body and we each have to find our own best levels.

Actually, I do, works like a charm…when I can maintain it. All you have to do is be in a great mood. That’s it. Be in a terrific mood and either idiots will be annoyed at you for it and avoid you or you will be too happy to notice them being idiots or be affected by them when they are. Ain’t a sweeter revenge than living well.

I had ankle swelling once or twice when I cheated a little a month ago and I had my right calf strain (no cramps) from increasing my hiking elevation gains (steep hills) but Ive had fewer cramps since starting keto than before but Ive never had them real bad - just annoying). Swelling can be kidney related so I always want as many labs as Kaiser will allow me to have. You cant have too much information. I only have one kidney so I get nervous . . .

May want to have your ankles looked at by your doctor?

Here is something that might help:

Dr. Berg talks about what foods and diet for fluid retention in the feet and ankles. If you have edema, swollen feet and ankles, Dr. Berg talks about the common remedies including foods high in potassium and a powerful enzyme called sarapeptase.

I take serapeptase along with nattokinase and naturally aged garlic extract.

This combo also works great if you have radial arterial calcification and plaque build-up in the arteries (preventing it too).

One additional thing you need is a mechanical trick:

PROPER ELEVATION to help the fluid drain.

Most people elevate incorrectly.

You MUST have ANKLES ABOVE KNEES, knees above hips.

Not equal, ABOVE.

And when your pillows or support sags you must correct it.

Really!!!
