Supplementing sodium:

(Marisa Huffman) #1

Someone gave the advice that if I felt lethargic or dizzy I probably need to lick some salt off my hand and Chase it with a glass of water. I’m using pink Himalayan sea salt though and it’s so crunchy and I don’t think I could stand eating it like that, is there a trick to doing this?

Eat a salty rind. Lick salt and bite lime. You can do it.

grind it, and dissolve in water

I make a quick mug of chicken broth in the microwave.

Eat a bite of sauerkraut.

It doesn’t dissolve well

Chicken or beef Broth. Salt dissolves. It just takes some time.

Just suck on the crystals. I do this at work through the day.

Dill pickle juice!

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #10

Bacon! And put salt in your scrambled eggs! And in your coffee! And on your salad! And why am I writing like this!? :grinning:

Putting the crystals under your tongue will release the salty goodness as they gradually melt.

I’ve got smoked salt (homemade) and have been putting it on salad. Yum!

I have also heard this is the best method.

Yes this is what I do too.

Another option is to make yourself a drink with 1 teaspoon Apple cider vinegar, 1/4 teaspoon Himalaya salt in a mug of hot water. If you can’t handle it like this just add a little sweetener. I add grated fresh ginger and have it instead of tea first thing in the morning and several times during the day. Having extra salt has made a huge difference to my sense of well-being. KCKO and good luck.
