Sulphorophane

Anyone supplement with sulphorophane? Everything I’ve read indicates it is excellent for lowering triglicerides, insulin levels and toxins like benzene.

Can you provide a few examples of what you read to support this?

I’m part-way through listening to Joe Rogan’s interview with Rhonda Patrick discussing sulphorophane - so far she’s said there’s no supplement she can recommend yet. Listen to the podcast - she’s got several broccoli sprout/seed recommendations.

Rhonda Patrick also put out an episode of her own FoundMyFitness podcast (link to YouTube version below) all about Sulforaphane with references to its effect on cancer, aging and heart disease. It’s a deep dive and was compelling enough for me to start growing some broccoli sprouts!

Doing it. Have broccoli sprouts in the freezer for smoothies.

Go Rhonda!

The Joe Rogan Experience podcast episode with Rhonda Patrick is what caused
me to pose the question in the forum. I’m so glad to hear others
interpreted it the same way I did. I’m going to start growing brocolli
sprouts this weekend. I’m not diabetic, but am curious as to whether
anyone has seen reduction in insulin as a result of ingesting sulphorphane?

Note from Rhonda’s twitter feed that she uses 50g of frozen sprouts at a time in her smoothies. So I put some on a scale and it was a full cup of sprouts! That is a bunch…

Small update here…I have been growing sprouts successfully since posting this and LOVE them as a salad topper. I eat a cup or so daily. Delicious! Also, they are pretty inexpensive to grow, especially compared to the cost of buying them. I use the mason jar method (half gallon jar). As long as I keep a batch going at all times, I am able to ‘farm’ enough to feed my BF and I each 1 cup daily.
