Sukrin Gold Sugar Substitute question

(Steph ) #1

Hi, I bought some Sukrin Gold to have 1 teaspoon in the morning with my first coffee (I go sweetener free after that cup) as it doesn’t have a bitter after taste like Stevia, but ……….I’m reading conflicting advice online.
Some Keto websites say avoid and some say it’s perfectly fine

You’ll find a split opinion here as well. I enjoy sweeteners, but I use in a very miserly fashion. I may be wrong, but a quick search suggests that Sukrin is essentially repackaged erythritol. I love erythritol, and do my best to limit my intake as it may trigger emotional eating for myself.

Diet Doctor has an excellent page on sweeteners, it’s well worth the ten minute reading time.

Thank you so much for this. I’ll go and have a look now

I agree with this policy. I have a little stevia in my morning coffee but that’s about it. While artificial sweeteners may not cause a spike in blood glucose, most if not all, will cause a spike of insulin. Some have even been shown in studies to spike insulin moreso than table sugar. Keeping our insulin levels stable is key to keeping our bodies in a fat burning state.
