Would sugarless gum lower keto readings?
mine was the lowest ever
I ate a bunch of sugarless gum last night before I went to bed I tested in the morning.
Usually I test in the morning
Sugarless gum
I use some when I go for a walk and don’t want to take water bottle with me. I do find I have more of an appetite after doing that, so I think, like any carb, they mess with my BS levels, as I am not diabetic, the easy of just chewing the gum wins out over the “I might get really hungry after this walk.” voice in my head.
Everyone seems to have their own reactions to artificial sweeteners. You will need to test some more, maybe the one in your gum treats you kindly?
If it has Acesulfame Potassium (Ace-K) in it then it will most likely spike your insulin. Acesulfame Potassium is in most sugarfree gum if it has sucralose. I too have noticed ketones drop after consuming mentos gum which does have acesulfame pottasium (Ace-K) in it. I read somewhere that it is supposed to be 200 times sweeter than sugar.
I have some problems also thought of the gum I work security and night work and the no soda thought may have a change to caffeine gum to help will checking later to see if it may help.
