I’m hoping someone can help me. I have a really good marinade for chicken that you use to baste chicken while it’s grilling. It has 6 T of sugar in it. Anyone know if I can sub with some sort of sugar substitute, like Stevia? If so, is it a 1/1 ratio? Think it would taste just as good, or nearly as good, considering the chicken just gets dipped several times during the grilling process? Note: the sauce is also boiled for a short time prior to using

I believe the Stevia has the conversion right on the packaging. At least the last time I bought it, it did.

I think the sugar you used in that is so that you get that caramelized coating on the outside. Not sure of any zero calorie sweeteners that do that
Maybe using a savory marinade could help instead? Like one that has bacon drippings in it…yuuuuuum

I may try it, since most just drips off and it doesn’t have much of a caramelized coating. It’s more of a vinegar heavy recipe. Thanks for the reply.

I’d try it without the sugar, just as an experiment.
