Sucking at keto this weekend - no regrets

I’m in DC - like half a country away from home - celebrating big sister’s retirement after 30 years in the military.

I’m not gorging on carbs, but I’m also refusing to beat myself up about them this weekend either. They’re hard to avoid when you’re eating out every meal, but I’m still well under 100 grams for the day.

No point. Except life and restaurants happen. Also that keto will make it so two mixed drinks are enough to knock you on your ass.

Back home Sunday night. Looking forward to my eggs fried in butter and my pasture raised beef. Meanwhile I’m going to avail myself of food we just don’t see back home in flyover country.

Congratulations to your sister and thanks for her service. I hope you’re having a great time with her. You’re right, life happens and goes on. No point in stress.

Have a fabulous weekend with your family.
Congrats to your sister on 30 years protecting the country, that is terrific!

( My hubby was in the Canadian Forces for 18 and got an Honourable Discharge when his knees got wrecked so has a Veteran’s Pension).

Holidays or special events will happen for everyone from time to time, and you are right, have no regrets. and enjoy yourself. As long as you get right back on the Keto Train when you are back, all good!

Have a safe trip home and have a blast while you are there =))

Good for you. There is no value in flogging one’s self for “food sins,” and your plan sounds more like a sustainable strategy than simply playing victim.

Ironically, I eat my best when I’m traveling, but we’re all different. I couldn’t sustain 100 gram a day, but my daughter does brilliantly at that value.

Back home now - got in late last night and had to go to work this morning. But now I’ve got the grill fired up and steaks and burgers standing by, and I’m gonna fry up some Brussels sprouts and serve them with baconnaise, and there’s fresh cucumbers.

This is the most excited I’ve been about a meal since last week.
