I was all in Keto for over a year. Never felt better and lost 50lbs. Don’t dwell on weight, just a side effect of a healthy lifestyle.
All my blood work was amazing and I was slowly progressing toward personal goals. Then life happen… we can call it variables XyZ. One carb meal a month, then a week, then avalanche of failure. I was addicted again. Stressed at work… eat my feelings. Joyful life event, eat my feelings. To lazy to cook… eat my feelings.
I have spent a year barely maintaining and slowing gaining, and feeling physically and mentally horrible.
I am recommitting, and all in. I’m 38 with a 2.5 year old and a 2 week old baby. Diabetes and heart disease is in my family. I am in for the long haul for my girls. I have to take it one good choice at a time.
Success, epic failure, recommitted
Welcome back - this lifestyle has worked for me. How exciting to have a two week old baby. I remember those days. I had my baby at 39! As you said, take it one good choice at a time. I wish I had known about keto earlier. Please, check in often - we are here to help.
Sounds like you are in the right mindset to get yourself back on track!! That’s huge!! Good luck, you got this. Be sure to post whenever you need help or encouragement, and I look forward to reading about your journey.
Think of them often. I lost my 42 yr old son 6 months ago to heart disease. He left 3 beautiful children.
I struggle ever minute of every day wishing I could of done something. I started keto 4 days ago and need to be here for his children
This is the best motivation!
Not just to be around and energetic for them but also to show them a healthy path. It’s priceless.
Good for you, and welcome back!
Thanks for the kind responses and personal stories. I know it’s cliche when ppl talk about their “why,” but the why is so important. I am a performance improvement consultant and begin any analysis with the end in mind. What does success look like, and why isn’t it being achieved? The end I go to is being here for my family! Keto is a huge step along that process.
