Interesting this as some signs that there are too many fast food outlets
Whilst not quite in McDonald’s levels of rubbish food, you do wonder if there is a generational shift here

Interesting. The North American Subways all now do chopped salad in a bowl versions of their subs and that’s been my go-to every time I stop by one to eat. No bread, sweet dressings/sauces, but lots of meats and cheeses and olive oil dressing seems that it could be a very keto option if so desired…
I just think the market is too saturated now and people looking for better options
Could be or maybe Subway just over expanded. They have nearly 2x the locations of McDonalds which has a very stable store base (+/- 1% since 2012). Subways are one of the cheapest franchises to buy (1/10th that of a McD’s) and they don’t seem too concerned with market overlap so this maybe internal to Subway.
BK is similarly stable in the US and like McDonald’s is growing strongly globally.
Weirdly there are more McDs in France than the UK… who’d a thunk it?
