Stuck for 2.5 weeks?

(Ashley ) #1

I started keto 83 days ago. I went from 251 to 220 so far, but I have been stuck at 220 for the past two weeks? Does this make any sense? I’m starting to lose my mind. Open to advice, suggestions, etc. thanks!

It’s not a simple linear process. It’s a metabolic normalization process and sometimes other stuff takes precedence. Stick with it and you’ll be OK.

It’s a very short time, it’s normal to have such periods. Who knows what happens in your body, maybe you get healthier but not lighter for a little while. Be more patient  It’s usually not realistic to expect a steady, linear weight-loss… People even gain sometimes a bit before lose more, our bodyweight fluctuates, it’s normal.

You’ve lost more than 10 pounds per month. More than 2.5 pounds per week! Celebrate that and carry on. Good luck.

Completely normal and no time at all. There will be times where the scale goes up too, then back down again. Relax and trust the process because the results you’re getting show it is working.

Track what you eat, something most likely changed. Our bodys can speed up and slow down, stall etc. But if you’re not tracking you have no way to troubleshoot stuff like this.

You are doing great, Ashley. Congrats on the 31 pounds you have lost so far! Your body is re-adjusting itself. After a lifetime of abusing our bodies with junk; it takes a while for our bodies to adapt to eating well, with Keto. I had a stall for over 2 months before; with no cheating, and so I can relate to you being frustrated, but others on here explained all this to me, and they were right! You are doing really well, please do not get discouraged. Your body is turning you into a healthy Keto woman, and you are doing an awesome thing for yourself on this new journey. We are all here to encourage you and cheer you on! You can do this =)).

That’s 1/3 of a pound every day. That’s amazing.

I am betting your clothes are still showing an ongoing loss. That happens too. I learned to avoid the scale for as long as possible. Weighing frequently leads to your mood and self esteem being dependent on those numbers. Try going a month. Forget the scale. I just heard ObiWan Kenobi in my head. “Trust the force.”
But yeah… do that. LOL

A good time-frame of weight-loss is 1-2 lbs per week. You’ve been losing at just over 2.5 lbs per week. That is VERY FAST. Relax. Your body needs time to adjust. You may stay at the same weight for a month, or you might drop down another few pounds next week. It’s not a race. You didn’t gain the weight at 3 lbs/ week. You probably gained the weight over a process of months or even years. Slower weight loss is ALWAYS better. If you lose slowly, you are more likely to keep it off in the long run.

If you aren’t “cheating” you will continue to lose over time. Often, people lose weight faster in the beginning and it slows down over time. Also, you might be starting to exercise and gain some muscle, which weighs more than fat.

Try not weighing yourself for at least a week, preferably 2 weeks. That’s a better way to go.

I’ve been “stuck” for 2 years. But I’ve healed every health condition.
