Struggling to stick with it

Okay, so I just ate. I made some fat bombs earlier, after Alec’s suggestion.
Two kinds, chocolate and vanilla. I just had two slices of bacon and one chocolate fat bomb. I feel full! This really surprises me. I think reading lots of posts on here about how fat can satisfy you, I think I was eating too much protein and not nearly enough fat. I might have half a pork chop later (leftover) and another piece of bacon. Want to keep the eating window at four hours.

This is day#4. Yesterday was great! Only 3 carbs in hard cheese.
Its 10 a.m. here and I had my water with ACV and now my coffee with coconut oil.
I will have bacon and eggs and avocado later when I’m really hungry and then a fat bomb or two.
I hope to ramp up to doing a 24 hr fast soon, but not until my head is in the right place. I’ve done a 36 once, a few 24s but hated it and felt like crap the whole time. Not really physically, but thought about food and wanted to eat the WHOLE time! This time I’ll wait until I’m in ketosis and do it when it feels like the right thing to do.
This forum and all you helpful encouraging smart people are helping a LOT!

I’m a week in, most days under 10 carbs, others under 20. I’m eating eggs, bacon, roast beef, chicken, burger, salmon, tuna, spinach, avocado, olives, coconut oil, olive oil, butter, cheese, and even finishing off that MCT oil. I feel good! Scale has come down 3 lbs, which surprises me because Im eating moderate amounts of food, OMAD with a fatty snack here and there.
Best thing is I don’t constantly obsess about what I’m going to eat next. I make sure that I have good healthy KETO foods on hand. I cook up lots of meat so its ready and waiting. I love meat.
It has helped a lot to have this place to come to for advice and support.
I hope everyone has a happy healthy week. Wow, its almost June!

Today I’ve had two eggs, bacon, 1 tb peanut butter, coffee,
one chicken thigh, a few black olives, 1/4 bag pork rinds,
and I feel like i’ve pigged out at a buffet! I had two chik thighs ready for dinner but could only eat one. In the past, I would have ate it just cuz it was on my plate! (who is this person???) lol
I really don’t get it, but not complaining! Anyone else feel very full after just a week of keto?

Wow, this is keto superstardom!!! What a great list of keto foods!!! Fantastic, and well done.

Thank you, Alec!

I think you said you were feeling good, and you’re not hungry? I hope so, those great foods should fill you up and make you happy.

When you’ve done a couple of weeks feeling full, then try a longer fast or 2 and see how you feel. You then start living off your own fat. If you are fat adapted, you should feel ok and not hungry.

I am on day 2 of a 4 day fast (I am not suggesting you start with this by the way!!) and seriously, I am not hungry. I am feeling energetic, my workmates are telling me to calm down cos I have so much energy.

Remember fasting is advanced keto. Do it gently and be kind to yourself.

Yes, I am definitely working my way to a good fast. I’ll start with a 24, then a 48. I’m doing OMAD now, with a few fatty snacks here and there. If I feel hungry and can’t stop thinking about food, I eat a few macadamias or a few bites of salmon. Or have a nice cup of tea. I think soon fasting will come naturally. I can’t wait! This body really needs to experience some nice autophagy. And get into a good exercise routine.

I’m still struggling, not with food, but with timing. I still can’t (won’t?) go more than 20 hours without eating something. Sometimes my fast is only 12 - 16 hours.
I’ve done well staying keto, but I want to go a whole day without eating and when It gets right down to doing it, I don’t follow through. I hope that eating keto will eventually help get my fasting window extended more and more. My goal is to do 3 days. for IR and autophagy.
