I think we need just a tad more details. But just to get the ball rolling, I suggest you cut veggies and the nuts. And the cocoa.

And eat more…

Half a pound is noise. Day by day weight fluctuations can drive a person crazy.

It’s the long term trend (weeks or months) that matters most.

The tough part is that our brains work hardest on near term memories of hours or days, so a recent unwanted change (gain) is going to feel more significant emotionally than a month or two of desired change (loss). By that I mean that 0.5 or 1 pound gain in a day can seem like a bigger deal than a 10 or 20 pound loss over a few months.

So Rosie tell us more. How long have you been eating KETO? What is your age height and weight? Do you have an exercise or training routine?

If the food you posted is a typical day you are under eating and your metabolism may be run down. If you’re just starting KETO you should eat regularly to get your metabolism ramped up. Then when you don’t eat your body will be comfortable letting go of some fat for fuel. :cowboy_hat_face:

SW 166
CW 160.4
GW 145
Is eggs tuna and a half avocado ok
I had bulletproof coffee this am
What about cheese?

Stress? water weight? hormones? did you go to the bathroom? .5 is nothing. The wind shifts and we can loose or gain that.

If I fast >24 hours, I’ll lose 5+ pounds. I can step on the scale twice and get differences greater than 0.5 pounds.

This why the scale is useless for some of us.

What is your total daily caloric intake? It is counter-intuitive, but if you are not eating enough, it freaks out your body because it thinks that food is scarce, and it goes into a ‘storage mode’.

Something that you can try is not weighing yourself at all. Focus on eating healthy, keto foods. Track your macronutrients and calories if that is helpful to you. Pay attention to the way your body composition changes (looking leaner, clothes fitting better, etc.), instead of weight. Be active every day (you do not need to wear yourself out at the gym, but try to at least take a 10 minute walk after every meal). Weight loss is not always indicative of a healthy change in the body’s composition.

Rachel in this episode of the Keto for Normies Podcast explained it really well.

Of the 6 pounds - what part was in the first week and what part was spread out over the rest of the month? If all around the beginning, it may have just been water weight and fat is not coming off while you are fat-adapting (give it 2 months).

Bulletproof coffee is generally better for maintenance when you need extra calories to maintain.
Eggs fried in lots of butter - good - hardboiled - bad.
Tuna is not good compared to fatty steak.
High fat low carb cheese is good but drop dairy if you stall to see what happens.

That is already quite substantial. Do not expect to lose at that rate. Your weight loss will slow down the closer you get to your goal weight.

One month of keto is not really that long. Your body is still adjusting. KCKO

Most short-term weight fluctuation is a simple change in water retention and digestive tract contents. It takes time to lose (or gain) a pound of fat (or muscle).

At one month, you’re probably just out of the “honeymoon phase”. When someone goes into ketosis, they can sometimes see a bit of water weight loss. That’s because water binds to the body’s stored glycogen. As someone goes into ketosis, that stored glycogen dwindles, so the water bound to it is released.

I can gain 4lbs just by doing enough squats, and no it is not muscle gains because it disappears 48 hours later. It is just natural inflammation.

Maybe you carried something heavy.
Maybe someone pissed you off in traffic and the cortisol caused minor inflammation.
Maybe one of the nuts was slightly oxidised or the salmon had higher heavy metals.
Maybe you came into contact with a sick person and your body is fighting the germs.

I learnt long ago that weighing more than once a week is a terrible idea and weighing once a month is better than once a week  the scale is a b***h

When I used to do my 3+ hour sessions at the YMCA every morning, I could lose up to 20 pounds during that time. Even while I was hydrating throughout.

If I went to the floor of the racquetball court, we’d have to take towels to it to wipe up all the sweat I had left behind.

I started picking up a half-gallon of aspartame-sweetened juice punch when I went in to work. It was how I found out I don’t tolerate aspartame. I would get terrible headaches hours later. I learned to re-hydrate with water.
