I’m trying to get over a stomach crud/flu. I know it’s not the flu, but commonly referred to as a stomach flu. Basically, anything I eat goes right through me. There for several days I wasn’t eating anything, only taking in electrolyte-rich liquids. I’m feeling somewhat better and getting my appetite back, but my digestive system isn’t back to normal. Everything on the BRAT diet is high carb. Does anyone have any suggestions, besides broth, about easily-digestible low carb options? On the bright side it’s helped me lose some extra pounds. Tummy is noticeably smaller. Thanks!
Stomach crud
Find some plain Greek yogurt and have small amt with argula salad with just some salt and olive oil. The active culture in the yogurt will restart your intestines. May take a few trys. I like green olives so I chop some up in the salad. Bone broth if you have some.
Good luck.
I agree with @daddyoh about the yoghurt but not the salad. Raw greens are difficult to digest and hang in the stomach for a while. I would try a couple tablespoons of raw fermented vegetables like fresh sauerkraut instead if you can get it. On the other hand if you’ve been eating nothing at all a half cup or so of plain white rice and plain tea might do you well. That amount of carbs alone shouldn’t kick you out of ketosis. I hope you’re feeling right very soon.
I drink heavy cream in such a situation. Or fast, depending.
