Stomach Always Mad :-(

(Sean Lauren) #1

Hey all. I’ve been doing Keto for about 10 months now. I lost 35 lbs almost instantaneously and now hover where I’ve been for the past 7-ish months. So many benefits besides weight-loss, but holy crap is my stomach always mad at me. It’s worth the trade-off, but what gives? It’s always gurgling at me and giving me the runs far too often. I can’t nail it down to any one food no matter how I’ve tried. Maybe it’s a combination of foods. Or maybe I just need more fiber? Unfortunately, I hate most vegetables so I don’t have many fiber options. I’m fine with a boring diet. In fact I adore it. I am currently eating mostly meat in cheese slices with mustard, boiled eggs, fish, burgers, and steak. Lots of coffee (regular or decaf, who cares) with a little half and half, nuts, and cheese chips. That’s about it. Anyone else not really doing fiber? How’s your stomach? Has anyone had this and found a solution? Ideas about where to get fiber apart from nasty veggies if that’s the likely culprit?

amazing

as if you describing me

I do not like vigitables and I eat very much what you described above.

I have an issue with stomach acid being low ( I always had this issue and it continued after keto )and I am trying to figure out what else is wrong with my stomach.

If you google to Dr John Douilliard he have a network of usefull videos regarding troubleshooting digestion issues.

If I am not wrong the gurgling is the sound of bile flowing through the ducts

You could try a digestive enzyme, and a good probiotic too. These can be extremely beneficial for many.

Are you drinking a lot (more than little sips) during meals?

A Keto Kefir, maybe? I imagine it’s an acid thing though I always figured it was too acidic rather than too little. As for meals, I rarely drink while I eat, but I’m almost always drinking something (usually coffee or seltzer water). I eat tums like candy now… :stuck_out_tongue:

Try restricting fluids 30 mins before and after meals and see if your guts settle down. Yes, the idea is to not dilute the acid.
