Im trying to stay positive and I know maybe some of you have gone through this…but I’m started to get really impatient!! I’ve been doing keto since March 1st, and I’ve lost about 22-25 pounds so far. But to be honest based on why I’m eating and my workouts I was expecting A LOT more… I had a nutritionist a while back and I was not exercising at all and I was eating carbs 3 times a day, low fat everything and lost a similar amount within the same time. I don’t know if maybe I’m doing something wrong? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve done my research, read a lot, watched tons of stuff on YouTube, etc. but I feel it’s been extremely slow compared to other people’s success stories. I can see a difference in my clothes etc but nothing dramatic and based on the amount of effort and dedication it’s honestly just pissing me off. I’ve never had a cheat meal/day/carb ups or anything like that. I think the worst thing I’ve done is having a corner of my husbands toast twice in 3.5 months… I fasted yesterday for 22 hours (first time ever) and I might start intermittent fasting going forward (maybe not that extreme though). I’m having 1200 calories a day (my maximum has been 1400), doing cardio, spinning, weight training 3-4 times a week and 20 net carbs. Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance !!!
Starting to get impatient
sounds like you need to eat more. Keto isn’t supposed to be calorie restricted. Try adding more fat into your day ans see if that shakes things up.
I’m going to second this. That’s very few calories. You’re probably slowing down your metabolism. Take a listen to the 2 keto dudes metabolism show. That might also give you some ideas.

You are overstressing your body by undereating and over exercising.
Your body is trying to heal from your old style of eating. Stop stressing it out with all that exercise and FEED it. You are losing about 8 lbs. a month, that is a good rate. I am a short, older woman, do 10K steps a day, plus yoga, strength training, some hiking and biking and I eat a lot more than 1200 cals. per day. I can tell you from personal experience, you have to feed your body to loss the weight.
Do try intermediate fasting, start with 14/10 and work up from there 16/8, 20/4 and maybe throw in some 24 hr. fasting, but work up to it. Remember to keep your electrolytes in balance and you should do just fine.
Good luck on your Journey.
Thank you! I haven’t been ableto find keto sticks here in Dubai… so I haven’t measured ketones, only 20g carb rule. I’m having around 80g protein and around 90 fat… my carbs are mainly veggies, the occasional berries and as mentioned in my post I’ve eaten 2-4 grams of brown bread from my husband’s breakfast a couple of times…so I’d say mostly leafy greens, cucumber, green bellpepper and dairy (I avoid milk and have cheese maybe once a day every other day) I haven’t done any bpdy composition tests either… where can I have that done? maybe a gym? or medical facility? I think I’m losing inches based on how my clothes fit, but the scale is being stubborn haha. For instance, today I weighed myself and I have dropped one one kg in 5 days (2.2 pounds).
My starting weight was 219.12 pounds, my current weight is 194 pounds and my goal weight is 154 pounds.
You are reading all the wrong stories if you think “everyone” is losing huge amounts of fat in very short times.
In has taken me 8 months to lose 20 pounds.
The human body is not a machine. It will do the right thing in its own good time if you treat it right. If you want the results you seek you have to be patient. Impatience is counterproductive here.
Hmmmm… from the emotional side of things, just for consideration, what if anger is stored up in fat? So when the angry, pissed off, irritated impatience appears it is an indication of fat loss…anger dissipating? How could this possibly be measured? Not on a scale, not in pounds, maybe not even in inches. I think you just might be having great success! Let it out, let it go! Cheers.
